BYD Tang L: The New Flagship SUV
The BYD Tang L is the latest flagship SUV from the Dynasty series. It measures 5,040 mm long, has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm, and features a three-row seating layout. Capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, this model will be sold alongside the current BYD Tang and is expected to launch officially in the first half of 2025.
The Tang L introduces the new “Loong Face” design language. Its split headlight setup and sleek daytime running lights enhance its commanding presence. The car’s dimensions are 5,040 mm (length) × 1,996 mm (width) × 1,760 mm (height), and its wheelbase is 2,950 mm. The rear features an elegant through-type tail light inspired by traditional Chinese weaving techniques.
The interior combines a floating central control screen, a digital instrument cluster, and an AR-HUD (Augmented Reality Heads-Up Display). Notable features include wireless phone charging, a Dynaudio sound system, an onboard fridge with heating and cooling, an aroma system, and the advanced “Eye of the Sky” intelligent driving system. The 2+3+2 seating configuration uses premium leather for all rows. The front seats come with electric adjustments, heating, ventilation, massage, and memory functions, while the second row also includes heating, ventilation, massage, and an easy-access feature.
The plug-in hybrid version adopts the fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, featuring a 1.5T hybrid-specific engine (115 kW) paired with front and rear motors (200 kW each). It offers three pure electric ranges: 135 km, 150 km, and 165 km. The fully electric version, based on the e-Platform 3.0, offers a single-motor variant (500 kW) and a dual-motor setup with front and rear motors delivering 230 kW and 580 kW, respectively. It also includes the new blade battery with a capacity of 100.5 kWh. The suspension system comprises a front MacPherson and rear multi-link setup, equipped with the advanced Yunnian-C system.
