BYD Song Pro DM-i Unveiled: Hybrid SUV Debuts
The new BYD Song Pro DM-i received its public debut at the 2024 Tianjin Motor Show. Positioned as a compact SUV, the new Song Pro DM-i is powered by a 1.5L plug-in hybrid equipped with BYD’s latest DM5.0 plug-in hybrid technology.
In terms of appearance, the front of the new Song Pro DM-i adopts the Dragon Face aesthetic design, with the headlights becoming slimmer and using a smoked black design. The lower part of the front end is equipped with a trapezoidal honeycomb grille with ‘fangs’ on both sides. The window frames are blacked out and the wheels have been upgraded to a new double five-spoke style. The vehicle’s rear is still equipped with two thick middle-thin tail lamps, using the BYD letters LOGO. Body dimensions, the new car length, width, and height were 4735/1860/1710mm, and the wheelbase is 2712mm.
Interior, the new car adopts a new amber-brown interior color scheme, combining the symmetrical design concept of the Chinese courtyard and the modern 3D cutting process. The new car is equipped with a full LCD instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch center control screen with BYD’s DiLink intelligent cockpit system. Some physical buttons are still retained around the gearshift lever to facilitate the operation of commonly used functions. In addition, the vehicle will also support an 8-way main driver and 4-way passenger electric seat adjustment and is equipped with a 1.2 square meter panoramic sunroof.
In terms of power, the new car will adopt DM5.0 plug-in hybrid technology with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 74 kW and an electric motor with a maximum power of 120 kW. The new car will offer two types of batteries, 12.96 kWh and 18.31 kWh, with a maximum charging power of 18kW, and a minimum charging time of 30%-80% in just 34 minutes. The CLTC working condition pure electric range is 75km and 115km, with a combined range of up to 1,400km, and a NEDC loss of electric fuel consumption of 3.79L/100km. In addition, the vehicle will also support 3.3kW external Discharge power.
